PODCASTING &
STREAMING MEDIA

What's the difference?
A podcast is a media file that can be subscribed to over the internet. These files can be played using an MP3 player, or other portable playback device. Sometimes podcasts can be downloaded or streamed, but usually a user subscribes to a podcast feed that is automatically updated when new versions are available. Podcasts can be audio or video.

Streaming media are audio or video files that are delivered by a server to a user's computer. These files are played continuously off someone else's storage space.
