Program Profile

Harlaxton College

Enjoy the adventure of a lifetime. Explore the natural and supernatural through classic texts and locales of gothic horror and romance; discover the works of British women poets and the land that shaped them; uncover the mathematical genius within you at the home of Isaac Newton. In the Raymond Walters College British Study Program, you can study and travel throughout Europe while taking one or two college level courses for credit at Harlaxton Manor this summer. Your course work will include exciting, fully-planned field trips, but also will allow you plenty of free time to travel on your own, if you wish. In just three and a half weeks of study and travel, you could be transformed into a seasoned, multicultural traveler.

Located conveniently an hour and a half by train north of London, Harlaxton Manor is within easy traveling distance of many of Europe's cultural centers. Edinburgh, Scotland, for example, is only three hours away by train. Dublin, Paris, and Amsterdam are all within easy travel distance.

During the term, you will eat, sleep, and study in the manor, a vast elaborate collection of over 100 rooms in a variety of ornate architectural styles, from Gothic and Elizabethan to Baroque and Rococo. Your experiences will be limited only by your imagination.
