Study Abroad:

Students will be immersed in
German language and culture at the Technische Universität (TU) Ilmenau in
Contemporary German Culture
and Civilization (28 GRMN 261, 3 cr.) will be taught in English by Professor
Debbie Page, and will complement the information presented in the cultural
lectures and multiple excursions included in the program. Topics include the history of Ilmenau and the
surrounding area; selected works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe; Martin Luther,
Johann Sebastian Bach and St. Elizabeth of Thüringen. There will be readings and a journal
requirement as part of the classwork.
The course will also include a review of the material covered in the
language classes.
