28ASIA104. Elementary Chinese I. 3 ug.cr. Basic patterns of modern Chinese (Mandarin) with emphasis on spoken language. Mastery of about 300 Chinese characters is expected. BoK:HU,DC.

28ASIA105. Elementary Chinese II. 3 ug.cr. Basic patterns of modern Chinese (Mandarin) with emphasis on spoken language. Mastery of about 300 Chinese characters is expected. Prereq.: 28ASIA104. Perm. of instr. BoK:HU,DC.

28ASIA106. Elementary Chinese III. 3 ug.cr. Basic patterns of modern Chinese (Mandarin) with emphasis on spoken language. Mastery of about 300 Chinese characters is expected. Prereq.: 28ASIA105. Perm. of instr. BoK:HU,DC.

28ASIA204. Intermediate Chinese I. 3 ug.cr. This course focuses on increasing proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. The emphasis is on listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture. Additional Chinese characters are introduced. Prereq.: 28ASIA106. Perm. of instr. BoK:DC,HU.

28ASIA205. Intermediate Chinese II. 3 ug.cr. Continues to build proficiency in Mandarin Chinese with emphasis on listening, speak­ing, reading, writing and culture. Additional Chinese characters are introduced. The second offering of a three-part sequence. Prereq.: 28ASIA204. Perm. of Instr. BoK:DC,HU.

28ASIA206. Intermediate Chinese III. 3 ug.cr. Further develops proficiency in Mandrin Chinese. Continues emphasis on listening, speaking, reading writing, and culture. Additional Chinese characters

are introduced. The third offering of a three-part sequence. Prereq.: 28ASIA205. Perm. of instr. BoK:DC,HU.
