Q:  Who will be performing the services?
A:  Second year students provide care under the supervision of Registered Dental Hygienists and Dentists.

Q:  How long do the appointments last?
A:  Appointment times are 2 to 5 hours long and may require more than one visit due to the educational setting.  For your oral health as well as the students' educational process, it is very important you keep all scheduled appointments.

Q:  Can anyone have treatment in RWC's Dental Hygiene Clinic?
A:  Only patients who meet our teaching needs and who have time available for the services will be accepted as clinic patients.  It may be determined that obtaining treatment in the clinic is not in your best interest.  In addition, children under 16 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign health history and consent form.

Q:  Do I still have to see my regular dentist?
A:  It is necessary that patients seek additional care from a private dentist since services performed in this clinic are limited to preventive treatment and do not replace regular dental care.  Referrals may be made to your private dentist.  Patients who do not have a private dentist may secure names from the Cincinnati Dental Society by calling (513)984-3443.

Q:  Can you send my x-rays to my regular dentist?
A:  All records are property of the College. However, these records may be released to you in person upon request. Upon completion of prophylaxis and utilization of the radiographs in the dental hygiene clinic, a duplicate of the radiographs will be given to you (Winter and Spring quarters). Please allow 24 hours for processing during Autumn Quarter.   All fees must be paid in full before x-ray films are released.  NOTE:  no x-rays may be released when the college is not in session (Academic Calendar) .
