About the Program
Word Processing Technology is a one-year certificate program designed to train you as an operator of word processing equipment. The equipment and procedures used in these programs help to produce efficient and effective business communications.
In the Word Processing program, you gain the knowledge, technical skills, and attitudes to apply modern technology in an office.
Career Opportunities
Rapid advancement in technology has greatly affected today's office environment, and RWC's Department of Office Information Technology has developed this program to train you to work in the automated office. As a word processing operator, you work with a team of people in an office.
Word processing operators may find employment opportunities in a wide variety of office settings in business, industry, government agencies, and non-profit agencies.
Admission Requirements
You may enroll in Raymond Walters College if you graduated from an accredited high school or preparatory school, or have a GED certificate (minimum composite score of 45). The college's enrolling admission policy allows you to start any quarter: autumn, winter, spring, or summer.
High school students who are considering RWC should take either the SAT or ACT college entrance examination for use in guidance and counseling. All students entering a degree program must also take the college's placement test prior to registering for classes. This test is given on the RWC campus. See specific prerequisites for this program.
