Department Philosophy Statement
The rapid growth of technology has special implications for the Department of Office Information Technology. The needs of both students and employers are changing as the office environment becomes more automated. To meet this challenge, office personnel should develop traditional office skills with an increasing emphasis on productivity and accountability. They must also demonstrate these skills while using the newest office technology. Employers in today's business climate need employees who possess excellent technical skills and a solid background in communication. These skills are required to successfully interact with clients/customers and coworkers. The Department addresses this challenge by students and employers. It provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed by office professionals to integrate office resources of people and technology.

Department Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Office Information Technology is:
  1. to provide up-to-date office training to traditional and nontraditional students;
  2. to provide retraining opportunities in office information technology for returning and community students;
  3. to graduate marketable students in the high technology office environment, with emphasis on productivity and accountability;
  4. to provide service courses, such as keyboarding, computer applications, business communications, and word processing to the College.
