Just think of it: 40 years ago there was little to Raymond Walters College except one small building, a handful of dedicated professors and the bright minds who came here to learn. Today our campus has blossomed into a business partner, an ally to the community and an educational asset for the University of Cincinnati. But, above all, we still hold strong to our dedication to teaching the bright minds of our community. We’ve changed with the times to serve our students, but we are still about learning, helping and teaching. We are still about being a friend to our community. We are still about planting seeds in the minds of future leaders, professionals and dreamers.

This year, we are celebrating 40 years of making a difference. Throughout the 07-08 academic year, we will reminisce about the college’s past, reflect on our current accomplishments and hone our plans for our future growth. In effect, we’re honoring where we’ve come from, where we are and where we’re headed.

Psychotherapist Edna Rostow once said, “Everyone is the child of his past.” And indeed, today our college owes much to our beginnings. The foundations laid then have continued to shape who we are and those we serve. It is due to the work done then, that we are able to enjoy such rich accomplishments in the present.

And what a list of successes we have to celebrate! Our accomplishments throughout the decades have been many. However, one consistent during our 40 years has been delivering quality education. Indeed, this passion for education – both as a goal and as a deliverable -- is why we continue to excel.

As a college, we have so much to be proud of and so many positives that will continue to impact not only our present, but also our future. By developing our shared vision for the future, we will have the overarching plan that will help keep us focused on our goals; allowing us to best utilize our resources to meet -- and exceed -- those goals and best serve our students.
