EC1 Announcements

 

02-Dec-2004

  1. Please put the finishing touches on your final group project for the quarter: To Brick and to Click? That Is the Question! (EC1-03). Your completed project is due by noon on Tuesday, Dec 7. You'll present your project to the class that evening.

  2. NOTE: We'll meet in SAHB 100 Tuesday night. Please do not go to Muntz 207. Please do go to SAHB 100.

  3. Please remember to post follow-ups for the EC trends discussion board assignment. Your follow-up postings are due by noon on Monday, Dec 6.

  4. Your final reflection journal assignment is available in the Assignments section of Blackboard. Please write your journal entry in Word and submit the file in Bb. Make sure to follow the file-naming scheme specified in the assignment. Your completed Connection Reflection Journal entry must be submitted through the Assignments section of Bb by noon on Friday, Dec 10.

  5. It's time for the last round of peer evaluations. I'll send out a peer evaluation form on Tuesday. Please return your completed peer evaluations by noon on Friday, Dec 10.

  1. Please continue working on your final group project for the quarter: To Brick and to Click? That Is the Question! (EC1-03). Your completed project is due by noon on Tuesday, Dec 7. You'll present your project to the class that evening.

  2. Please get started on your next individual assignment: E-Commerce Trends (EC1-19). Your initial discussion board posting is due by noon on Wednesday, Dec 1. Your follow-up postings are due by noon on Monday, Dec 6.

  3. You'll complete one final reflection journal during exam week, I'll post the reflection assignment during the week of Nov 29 so you can begin thinking about it. Since part of the assignment will involve a reflection on the presentations that will take place at our final class meeting on Dec 7, you'll need to wait until after those presentations take place to complete the assignment.

  1. Several articles are available in our Bb classroom; they may come in handy as your work through the assignments you'll tackle over the next month. To get to the articles, click the Documents button. The articles are provided in folders which are organized by topic.

  2. Please get started on your final group project for the quarter: To Brick and to Click? That Is the Question! (EC1-03). Your completed project is due by noon on Tuesday, Dec 7. You'll present your project to the class that evening.

  3. Please get started on your next individual assignment: Online Auctions (EC1-18). Your initial discussion board posting is due by noon on Monday, Nov 15. Your follow-up postings are due by noon on Friday, Nov 19.

  4. We have a class meeting scheduled for Tues evening. Please watch your email for details about the meeting.

  1. NOTE: We'll meet in SAHB 100 tonight. Please do not go to Muntz 207. Please do go to SAHB 100.

  2. We'll work through a problem in class tonight. Please make sure to leave your group work sheet with me before you leave.

  3. Over the next few days, please complete a Connection Reflection journal entry for the TLA problem. (We'll talk more about Connection Reflection assignments in class tonight.) A link to the Connection Reflection assignment is available through the Assignments section of our Bb classroom. Please write your journal entry in Word and submit the file in Bb. Make sure to follow the file-naming scheme specified in the assignment. Your completed Connection Reflection Journal entry must be submitted through the Assignments section of Bb by noon on Tues, Oct 19.

  4. Your next problem -- If We Nag Them, They Will Come (EC1-02) -- will be available in the Problems & Projects section of Bb before you leave tonight. Your solution to this problem is due by noon on Fri, Oct 29. You'll start another problem before this one is due, so please budget your time wisely.

  5. Please continue with the readings in your text:

    • Ch. 7 -- E-Commerce Marketing Concepts

    • Ch. 8 -- E-Commerce Marking Communications

  6. Several articles are available in our Bb classroom; they may come in handy as your work through the problem you'll tackle over the next week or so. To get to the articles, click the Documents button, and then open the Marketing and Advertising on the Web folder.

  1. Please make sure to read the syllabus for this class.

  2. Before you leave tonight, please make sure that you have activated your Bearcat Online account and made arrangements to read your Bearcat Online mail. Here are some options for this:

    • You can use a web-based system, like UC's Web mail reader (email.uc.edu), to read your mail.

    • You can use a POP client, such as Outlook or Eudora, to read your mail.

    • You can forward your Bearcat Online mail to another account.

  3. Before you leave tonight, please make sure you have activated your Blackboard account. Over the next few days, please take some time to become familiar with Blackboard, including the Digital Drop Box, the Groups feature, and the Discussion Boards. You can use Blackboard's Help feature to become more familiar with the system.

  4. Before you leave tonight, please make sure to email your group's ground rules to me.

  5. Please read the Getting Started with Problem-Based Learning document by the end of this week.

  6. Over the next several days, please read the following chapters in your text:

    • Ch. 1 -- The Revolution Is Just Beginning

    • Ch. 2 -- E-commerce Business Models and Concepts

  7. Please use the Class Introductions forum on the Blackboard discussion board to introduce yourself to the class. Please post your introduction by noon on Friday, Oct 1.
