Simple definition of a hero: Someone who acts to help another with no thought for herself or himself. Someone who performs an admirable task.

Great Heroes--> famous people who help their countries. | |

Mythical Heroes--> people in myths and legends who do amazing tasks. | |

Sports Heroes --> people who perform admirable achievements in sports. | |

Popular Heroes--> a famous entertainer people whose work admire, or whose art people find inspiring. | |
|
Ordinary Heroes--> an ordinary person who is not famous or particularly distinguished who acts to help another with no thought for herself or himself, or who performs an admirable achievement. |

Free Writing for the Heroes Essay

Please think about the different aspects of heroes that we expect from them. You may require that they be altruistic. You may require that they be willing to sacrifice everything, including their own lives, or you may require that they just do their best. As you free-write, please answer the following questions.
Are people heroes if they are paid money for their actions?
Are people more heroic if they die doing something heroic?
Are people less heroic if the person they are saving dies or the thing they are trying to save is destroyed?
