FOCUS... on your future!
FOCUS is an online, self-guided program that will help you explore and make decisions about your career goals and your major areas of study. Use FOCUS to help you choose a career path, change a career path, or to confirm your preferences toward a certain career field.

What are the benefits of using career planning systems like FOCUS?
Career planning helps students become more motivated and goal focused. Students who are invested in career planning will be more likely to have high academic achievement, fewer transfers and switching of majors, and graduate on time. In the future, students will likely have a higher sense of satisfaction related to their chosen career field.

Career counseling is available to help you assess your interests, values, skills and personality traits to create a profile of yourself that you can then use to evaluate career options. You can receive assistance with goal setting and decision making, test anxiety, time and stress management. A variety of workshops are offered each quarter. Check the quarterly schedule in Career Services or look at the bulletinboard at www.collegecentral.com/ucrwc.

Job placement assistance is available for students and graduates seeking part-time, full-time or internship opportunities. Check out our job listings online at www.collegecentral.com/ucrwc. Close to 20,000 jobs were posted with our office in the past year. Resume critiques, interview preparation and job listings are some of the resources you may want to use.

Each Spring, we sponsor a Career Fair to bring local employers on campus to talk with students about career opportunities within their organizations. Career Services conducts a graduate follow-up survey to track RWC graduates' success in the workforce and transfer to baccalaureate programs.
